Real stories
We don't just provide a roof. We help people rebuild a future.
Recovery is rarely a straight line — but with stability, support and someone who believes in them, people change their lives. These are real journeys from our community.
Family reconnected
From homelessness to hope
A new chapter, and the family he thought he'd lost
When he first arrived, he had experienced homelessness and long-term addiction, and had lost contact with his parents. Through consistent one-to-one support and the stability of a safe place to live, he slowly began rebuilding his life.
One of the most significant moments was his decision to be baptised — with our staff and his parents there beside him. It marked far more than a milestone: it was the restoration of relationships that had once seemed lost.
"Before Tranquil Minds I had lost everything. Since being here I've rebuilt my relationship with my family. I finally feel hopeful about my future again."
Steven arrived carrying nearly two decades of addiction. In his first week, his place was at risk — but behind the chaos, staff could see a genuine desire to change. Rather than give up on him, we chose to work alongside him.
Through one-to-one support, honest conversations and access to our on-site gym, Steven rebuilt his confidence day by day. Today he has passed 100 days free from crack cocaine.

Improved confidence, wellbeing and self-esteem
Building a healthier, more stable future
Learning life skills around the table
Creating community, one meal at a time
Many of the people we support have spent years surviving rather than learning everyday skills. Our group cooking sessions help residents plan a meal, shop to a budget and cook together — then sit down and share it.
